About Charles Reyna
Hello and welcome to my artist website. My name is Charles Reyna. I was born and raised in Texas but have been living in Santa Fe, New Mexico since 1997. I’m a self-taught artist. I paint intuitively. Painting abstract art affords me the opportunity to express myself through a visual language.
I studied Art History at UNM - Albuquerque and have been painting since 2009. Some of my influencers are Georgia O’Keeffe, Andy Worhal, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and Mark Rothko among others. I strive to make art that is unique and contemplative.
Artist Statement
I paint to express my inner feelings on canvas. I use abstraction and spontaneity to create works of art that are both fluid and energetic. Using acrylic paint allows me the flexibility to layer, experiment, and convey what I’m feeling.
